Activated Carbon Block Filter Cartridges – Removes Organic Materials and Chlorine

Granular activated carbon removes chlorine from the water as well as
any odours from the water, and it promotes taste.
Allowing the organic materials and chlorine to effectively bond with the carbon
molecules, thus removing these from the water.

The Activated Carbon Block is enclosed in a 5-micron filter to catch tiny
carbon dust particles that may break off during the filtration.
Especially from phase 2 due to it being in a granular form which has carbon dust
present.

Active or Activated Carbon is Charcoal that has been processed to increase it’s porosity, making it significantly better at absorbing impurities.

• What does carbon do in a water filter?
• Carbon filters remove contaminants through adsorption. Adsorption means that contaminants are attracted to the surface of the activated carbon and held to it, much the same way a magnet attracts and holds iron filings. Carbon filters also act as a catalyst to change the chemical composition of some contaminants.
